Cupped Hands Plate1992 Marble Chiseled out of a 1. 5" thick slab of marble approximately 10" square, this plate offers back from its cupped hands whatever you put on it. It was my first experience with marble, which is how I wound up chipping off half of the last knuckle on the right thumb.

The convex shape of the top of the ring allows the diamond to be flush-set and still be slightly elevated without exposing it to a lot of abuse

Luna represents Artemis (Latin: Diana)

which is offset enough that it might work with hexagons… and this pendant was born

The diamond was hewn from the 地久

This got me thinking about the long history of the Japanese people in Hawai‘i and how Japanese culture has contributed so much to what we in Honolulu consider ”local“ culture

I ran with the joke

the six sets of cymbals align to form the points of an implied Star of David when the piece is viewed from the front

saw images of some of the Stars of David that I'd made out of Hebrew names
